Frequently Asked Questions

Why has the in-person 35th Annual Meeting in-person event been cancelled?

While planning the 35th Annual Meeting through the coronavirus crisis, AACVPR prioritized member, attendee, and partner health and safety. After much review, dialogue with key stakeholders and considerable evaluation of this public health crisis, the AACVPR Board of Directors has made the prudent but difficult decision to cancel our in-person event in West Palm Beach, Florida and move to a fully virtual Annual Meeting.

Why did you wait so long to make this decision?

The COVID-19 pandemic is an evolving situation and states across the country are in different phases of reopening. We have been watching closely to understand the risks for travelers to and from Florida and restrictions on mass gatherings with optimistic hopes that an in-person event would be possible this year. When it became evident that it is not in the best interest of our community to gather in-person this fall, we worked quickly with the West Palm Beach Convention Center to cancel the event. The Program Planning Committee is now at work making plans for a robust a virtual conference.

What if I already booked my flight and travel arrangements?

You should contact those companies to understand their policies and whether flights can be transferred and what penalty fees, if any, may apply.

I’m a sponsor or exhibitor at AACVPR, what will happen with my sponsorship recognition or booth?

An email was sent on June 25 to all exhibitors informing them of the transition to a virtual exhibition. Soon you’ll hear more about opportunities for AACVPR partners to participate in a virtual exhibit hall. Please contact Jessica Eustice, at jeustice@aacvpr.org if you have any questions.

I am a speaker, how will this affect me?

An email was sent to speakers on June 25. Details regarding the virtual event and speaker logistics will be provided as soon as possible. In the meantime, the speaker presentation submission deadline has been extended to Monday, August 17. Please reach out to speakers@aacvpr.org if you have any questions.

What will the virtual event be like?

During the week that we would have met in West Palm Beach, AACVPR will offer a full line-up of live and pre-recorded sessions for virtual conference attendees. There will be keynotes, breakout sessions, a virtual exhibit hall, an Awards Showcase, and networking. Attendees will be able to chat in real-time with other attendees, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, and AACVPR staff. A virtual exhibit hall will also be available so that attendees can learn about the latest innovations, products, services and resources. Special reduced rate offers, games and prizes will be available to all attendees who participate in AACVPR’s virtual conference.

Will we be able to access presentations after the experience?

Registrants of the Virtual 35th Annual Meeting will have access to recordings of all breakout presentations and general sessions included in the cost of registration. Please note that rapid-fire sessions will not be recorded for later viewing. Pre-meeting workshop registrants are strongly encouraged to attend the workshop presentation live, in order to participate in presenter Q&A. Workshop recordings will be available to pre-meeting workshop registrants only, following the conclusion of the meeting.

Will I still receive continuing education credits?

Yes, you will have the opportunity to earn up to 45.25 CEC credits through the virtual platform.

When will registration open for the virtual conference?

Registration is currently open.
