Pulmonary Rehab Certificate

 


A vital part of a successful pulmonary rehabilitation program is the skill and knowledge of its healthcare providers. This program, developed jointly by the AARC and AACVPR, provides pulmonary rehabilitation specialists the knowledge necessary to be an effective member of the pulmonary rehabilitation team. 

 

 



The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Certificate course is a series of 12 modules:

1. Pulmonary Rehabilitation 
2. Pathophysiology and Assessment of COPD 
3. Assessment and Management of Patients other than COPD
4. Pharmacologic Interventions 
5. Supplemental Oxygen Administration 
6. Exercise Assessment, Prescription, and Training in Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Part 1
7. Exercise Assessment, Prescription, and Training in Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Part 2 
8. Tobacco Cessation
9. Nutrition and Pulmonary Disease 
10. Psychosocial Assessment and Intervention in Pulmonary Rehabilitation
11. Collaborative Self-Management
12. Outcomes Measurement in Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Criteria for successful completion includes viewing all course videos in their entirety as well as scoring 70% or higher on the post-course test. Successful completion of this course allows one to include“Certificate in Pulmonary Rehabilitation, AARC/AACVPR” on their resume/CV and in their email signature line.

Continuing Education Credits

  • 12.0 AACVPR CE credits
  • 12.0 CRCE (AARC – Respiratory Therapists)
  • 12.0 CNE (application pending)
  • This course is approved by the Ohio Nurses Association through 12/31/2019. The Ohio Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. (OBN-001-91)

  • AACVPR Member: $230
  • Non-Member: $280
