In 2007, a New York Times article described Pittsburgh as “a perfect example of a 19th-century American city that has reinvented itself for the 21st century.” A beautiful and vibrant city, Pittsburgh is defined by hills, separated by rivers and bridges, and demarcated by ravines – neighborhoods are each small towns where families live for generations. The AACVPR meeting will be held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh. This Center is the first certified green convention center in the United States and the largest certified green building in the world. In addition to its topographic beauty and welcoming fall climate, Pittsburgh is easy to get to – it is within 500 miles of more than half the U.S. population and less than a 90-minute flight from 50% of North America’s population.

Discounted room rates are available until the room blocks are filled or until September 7, 2009. Staying at the Annual Meeting Hotel
There are several hotels in downtown Pittsburgh and we know that attendees may be tempted to “shop around” for a better rate. One way you can help keep Annual Meting costs down and quality up is to stay at the chosen hotel. In order to keep the registration fee as low as possible, the conference contracts for a specific block of hotel rooms. If these rooms are not picked up, the cost of the conference goes up or we have to cut back on services to you. The rates negotiated are competitive for the quality and we encourage you to stay with us.
