Kate Larsen, MCC, CWC, has achieved the ICF designation of Master Coach Certification (MCC). She has trained thru CoachU, Corporate CoachU, and the Coaches Training Institute. An expert on health and wellness, she is a faculty member, advisor, and past mentor coach for Wellcoaches Corporation, which offers wellness coach training to health and fitness professionals and coaching services in partnership with the American College of Sports Medicine. Kate serves as a consulting associate and executive coach for The Ken Blanchard Companies, a globally renowned leadership development and training organization. Kate is a successful entrepreneur, consultant, international speaker, addictions counselor, author, fitness instructor, and happy wife and mother of three.

Rehabilitating the U.S. Healthcare System

Cardiovascular rehabilitation is still a conspicuously underexploited but clearly demonstrated asset in reducing morbidity and mortality. The AACVPR and American College of Cardiology (ACC) have an opportunity to spotlight and systematically improve the quality and outcomes of cardiovascular rehabilitation care through collaboration of clinical registries. Coincident with a likely transition in payment methodologies to reward improved outcomes, this collaboration could significantly improve management of risk factors for chronic disease while restoring patient functionality.
John (Jack) C. Lewin, MD, has been Chief Executive Officer of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) since November 2006. The 39,000-member College represents American cardiologists and a growing number of international members. Based in Washington DC, ACC has a distinguished reputation among professional ocieties for leadership in the monitoring of quality care and outcomes, and for making such results transparent. Publisher of the esteemed Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC), ACC is also the world leader in cardiovascular clinical education and clinical guidelines development, operating the NCDR quality of care data registries in more than 2,400 hospitals. Dr. Lewin received his BA in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine, and his MD from the University of Southern California. He and his wife, Sandra, have three children.
