Membership Requirements

Member
Shall be any interested person who is a nurse, physician, medical scientist, allied health-care practitioner or educator, and who in his or her professional endeavors, is regularly involved in some aspect of cardiovascular and/or pulmonary rehabilitation. Members have AACVPR voting privileges.

Corporate Member
A corporate member shall be any interested corporation that provides products or services to the cardiovascular and/or pulmonary rehabilitation health care field. Corporate members do not have AACVPR voting privileges.

Student Member
Shall be any interested college student currently carrying the equivalent of at least one half of an academic load for one year, as defined by the university or college the person is attending, and one who is studying in a medical or allied health curriculum.

Fellow
Shall be qualified as a Member in good-standing for a minimum of three consecutive years; attended a minimum of two Annual Meetings; demonstrated high standards of professional development and a commitment to the goals and long-range activities of the Association; submitted evidence of outstanding performance in some aspect of cardiovascular or pulmonary rehabilitation over a period of at least five years relative to a) clinical practice, b) research and/or c) professional education in cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation; received recommendations in writing by two Fellows of the Association; and received the approval of the Credentials Committee and the Board of Directors. Membership in AACVPR is effective July 1 through June 30. Membership dues are non-refundable nor deductible as a charitable contribution. Membership dues may be deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense. Consult your tax advisor for information.
