Prepare for the future now by recognizing why performance measures are important to your program. This program was developed to help individual program managers/directors understand the importance of the new performance measures for Cardiac Rehabilitation and to utilize the new recommendations to enhance referrals to CR programs. The Cardiac Rehabilitation Performance Measures were developed to address the underutilization of cardiac rehab services by hospitals and physicians.
The implementation of these measures can impact referrals into your program and assist you in capturing relevant outcomes data. This presentation will provide you with specific tools and techniques to enhance your phase II CR program.
The presentation focuses on 4 main questions about the newly released AACVPR/ACC/AHA Cardiac Rehabilitation/Secondary Prevention Performance Measure Sets. Three members of the CRSP Performance Measures writing group will provide insight into these and other questions that have important implications for all cardiac rehabilitation professionals:
• Why have performance measures?
• What are the Cardiac Rehabilitation/Secondary Prevention Performance Measures?
• Do we need to use them in our program?
• If so, how?
Following the presentation, participants will be able to:
•
Understand why performance measures in a cardiac rehabilitation setting are important.
• Identify the new performance measures for cardiac rehabilitation programs.
• Implement these performance measures within a cardiac rehabilitation program using the sample tools provided.
