Scientific Abstract Submission Guidelines
A. General Information
Presentations for scientific abstracts will be accepted in one of two formats, platform or poster. If you wish to present as a poster please indicate that as your preference and if accepted the abstract will be assigned a poster presentation. If you wish to present as a platform, please indicate that as your preference. Abstracts submitted for platform presentation are scored on a scale of 1-100 and the highest rated submissions will be accepted for a platform. If you abstract is accepted, but the score is not high enough for a platform, you will be assigned a poster presentation (if you indicated during the submission process “Accept the Alternative”). However, if you submit for an oral presentation and do not want to present as a poster even if the abstract is accepted, indicate “Withdraw the Abstract”.
B. Fellow Recommendation
A Fellow of AACVPR can sign off on an abstract attesting to the scientific and technical quality. Fellow recommendation ensures that the abstract is accepted for presentation, but does not ensure acceptance as a platform. Platform presentations are awarded to the highest rated abstracts regardless of Fellow Recommendation.
C. Scientific Abstract Format
For 2008, the guidelines for the structure of the abstract have been updated. Any deviation from these guidelines will result in rejection of the abstract. Abstracts are limited to 400 words; no figures, tables or graphics are to be submitted. The abstract structure needs to contain the following elements:
a. Introduction

• Data is promised at a later date;all studies must contain data and analysis.
• Data not presented to support stated objective
• Inappropriate statistical methods used
• Poorly written (i.e. spelling, grammar, etc.)
