Traveling to Washington, D.C.

By Air
The Washington, D.C. area has three accessible airports: Ronald Regan Washington National Airport (DCA), Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI). Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is the closest to the Washington Marriott Wardman Park (7 miles from the hotel). Washington Dulles International Airport and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport are 24 and 34 miles away respectively from the Washington Marriott Wardman Park.

Taxi Service from Airport(s)
From Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport: Taxicab stands are conveniently located near the Arrivals (baggage claim) exits of each terminal. Dispatchers at each stand will help you select a taxicab based on your destination in Washington DC, Virginia, or Maryland. No advance reservations are required—service is on a first-come, first-served basis. Fares to the Washington Marriott Wardman Park are approximately $30.00.

 
From Washington Dulles International Airport: Washington Flyer Taxis are available on the lower level of the Main Terminal. Fares to the Washington Marriott Wardman Park are approximately $60.00.
 
From Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport: The taxi stand is located just outside of the baggage claim area of the Lower Level of the BWI Marshall terminal. Please note that this service is available from BWI Marshall only. Fares to the Washington Marriott Wardman Park are approximately $88.00.
 
Public Transportation from Airport
From Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport: The Washington, DC Metrorail system has an elevated Metrorail station connected to the concourse level of terminals B and C at Reagan National Airport. Metrorail farecards may be purchased at machines located at all entrances to the Airport Metrorail station. The station is also fully accessible via elevators.

Getting to the Metrorail station from the Terminals:

  • Terminal B and C: Use either of two enclosed pedestrian bridges on the concourse level which connect directly to the station.
  • Terminal A: Exit the terminal to the streetside curb, and board any “Airport Shuttle” bus. At the stops for Terminal B/C or Parking Garages B and C you may access an enclosed bridge which connects to the Metrorail station.
To get to the Washington Marriott Wardman Park, take the Yellow train in the direction of Fort Totten/Greenbelt to the Gallery Place Chinatown Metro Station. Transfer to the Red train, traveling in the direction of Shady Grove to the Woodley Park Zoo Metro Station. The Washington Marriott Wardman Park is located 1 minute by foot from the Woodley Park Zoo Metro Station via Connecticut Avenue.
 
Alternatively, take the Blue train from the airport in the direction of Largo Town Center to Metro Center Metro Station and transfer to the Red train traveling to the Woodley Park Zoo Metro Station.
 
Metro fares to the Washington Marriott Wardman Park from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport are approximately $4.25.
 
From Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport: Amtrak trains provide service from the BWI Marshall Rail Station, and free shuttles are available from the airport to the train station. Shuttle stops are located on the lower level terminal roadway in between door numbers 1 & 2, 8 & 9, 14 & 15, and 17 & 18. Shuttle buses between the airport and the train station operate every 12 min from 5:00am to 1:00am daily and every 25 min between 1:00am and 5:00am daily.
 
To get to the Washington Marriott Wardman Park, Board the Amtrak Train from BWI from Washington's Union Station. From Union station, take the Red train traveling in the direction of Shady Grove to the Woodley Park Zoo Metro Station. The Washington Marriott Wardman Park is located 1 minute by foot from the Woodley Park Zoo Metro Station via Connecticut Avenue.
 
Combined Amtrak and Metro fares to the Washington Marriott Wardman Park from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport are approximately $20.00. If travelling from BWI via Amtrak and Washington DC’s metro system, we encourage you to check the Amtrak schedule at www.amtrak.com prior to your trip.
 
Alternate Transportation
Alternatively, you may choose to utilize SuperShuttle - a for-hire shuttle service that services all three major airports in the Washington DC area and provides door-to-door service. Shuttle rates vary. Visit http://www.supershuttle.com/ to reserve a shuttle.
