About the Exam
The Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional (CCRP), exclusively for cardiac rehabilitation (CR) professionals, is the only certification aligned with the published CR competencies. AACVPR’s exam assesses proficiency via questions that evaluate knowledge of facts, concepts and processes required to complete the following tasks as illustrated in the CCRP exam blueprint.
Apply for Certification or Recertify Today
Ready to apply or recertify? Log in to the AACVPR website and then click on the “My Profile” link in the green navigation bar at the top of the page. When on your profile, click on the “CCRP Certification” link at the top of the page and either click “Apply for Certification” to start the process or “View or Renew Certification” to submit for recertification.

CCRP Preparatory Study Guide
AACVPR worked with the authors of its original CCRP Study Guide, published in 2014, to meet your requirements of preparing for the CCRP exam and/or staying up-to-date on the field of cardiac rehabilitation. The target audience for this guide includes nurses, exercise physiologists, physical therapists, dietitians, social workers, psychologists and cardiologists. With chapter objectives and self-assessment questions, this guide provides a well-rounded working knowledge to the many facets of cardiac rehabilitation. The CCRP Preparatory Study Guide has been developed by an independent AACVPR taskforce to assist potential certificants to prepare for the exam.
CCRP Core Competencies eLearning Modules
The 2018 update to the CCRP eLearning modules retains the framework of the core competencies for cardiac rehab professionals, which has been the hallmark of the profession since 2010 that will assist you in your successful pursuit to become a CCRP. The target audience for this resource comprises a wide range of health professionals who require a working knowledge of the field of cardiac rehabilitation, including nurses, exercise physiologists, physical therapists, dietitians, social workers, psychologists and cardiologists. The modules are also invaluable to emerging professionals seeking to gain a better understanding of the field. Courses may be purchased individually or as a bundle, and include:
